PATENT PROSECUTION HIGHWAY – PPH AGREEMENT BETWEEN SAUDI ARABIA AND FRANCE

On April 30, 2024, the “Patent Prosecution Highway – PPH” agreement signed between the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI) and the Saudi Arabian Intellectual Property Authority (SAIP) will come into force. This PPH agreement, which aims to speed up the granting of patents between the two countries, is the first signed by INPI with a Middle Eastern country.

It is also the eighth PPH agreement signed by INPI, which already has such agreements with the Japanese Patent Office (JPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC) – (Source INPI)
