TRADEMARKS – MADRID PROTOCOL AND QATAR
On August 3, 2024, the Madrid Protocol will take effect with respect to Qatar. This accession will allow economic operators to apply for registration in this territory through the Madrid system. This system affords a simplified, centralized and lower-cost trademark protection procedure in many markets (131 countries).
Until now, trademark protection in Qatar has only been possible through a national filing.
